Craft Project: Make your own CW&IA "Masen" Hoodie

I've gotten a lot of comments and questions about my Stoli shirt, explained in this post.
I've also inspired a lot of ladies to create twi-related awesomeness.
This makes me happy.
In particular, it seems I inspired something completely unexpected from my genius friend Jessica Pattinson, also known as JPattz.
This is so totally awesome that I felt the need to share it here, and asked her if she would write a little how-to on it's creation.
Everyone knows Tattward is one of the hottest 'wards you can get, and everyone also knows that Clipped Wings and Inked Armor is the best Tattward fic there is. If you don't know this, go read this and come back after you recover from the fuckhot. DON'T CLICK THAT IF YOU ARE UNDER EIGHTEEN. kthanx.

So the “make your own Stoli shirt” post found me running off to my local craft store for the needed supplies. As I’m perusing the iron-on aisle at Michael’s my eye caught the shiny twinkle of some pretty cupcake appliqués. And my fanfic inflicted brain’s train of thought goes something like this… CUPCAKES! TATTWARD! MASEN HOODIE! WANT ONE! Well, what do you know? The iron-on letters needed to make said hoodie are RIGHT HERE. Conveniently placed next to the printable iron-ons needed for my fawesome Stoli shirt. But, wait! What does that Masen hoodie look like again? It’s easy to forget those small details when you’re focused on peen piercings and hot as fuck car-hood sex.
So begins the frantic texting to my also addicted fanfic twi-friends. My wonderful friend B went through 12 chapters of said fic to find the description for me!

JP: Where did u get your iron on stuff?? :)

JP: Going to michaels then!!! I'm making hubs one too! I'm turning him into my personal rob.

JP: In CWIA what color is the masen hoodie? Do u know?

B: I want to say blue... I can find out if you like!

JP: Yes please! I'm gonna make one!

B: Omg that is too awesome. I am looking

What could I do to repay my favorite research assistant? Well, make her a Masen hoodie too! Only seems fair… So here’s what you need to make yourself the proud owner of you very own Masen hoodie:

Plain black zippered hoodie sweatshirt (got mine at the local Walmart)

Red iron-on letters (from Michael’s, of course! Where said hoodie epiphany happened)

Hot dry iron

Ironing board

Cotton press cloth (I used a kitchen tea towel)

Follow directions, and PRE-WASH your sweatshirt. I know. The waiting to make your beloved Masen hoodie is not fun. Entertain yourself by re-reading your favorite parts of CW&IA. When the sweatshirt is washed and dried place it on your ironing board (or other hard, heat resistant surface) and arrange the hoodie as it would lie when you are wearing it. You want to make sure you’ll be able to see the Masen, right?!? Then simply follow the directions as listed on the back of the iron-on letters package. It was pretty easy, even for me – the very non-crafty person that I am. Then you can proudly wear your Cupcakeward hoodie and grin evilly and shrug when people ask you what the “Masen” stands for.
